If you wish to remove the fan controller from the line:
1: These lines need to be jumped, or snipped and connected. This will complete the circuit.
This will leave you with three wires. the Ground (Blk), the Power (Red), and the Yellow (rpm Sensor).
At this point you can do a couple of things.
Note: If you choose that latter, then you will need to make sure that you have all the components required (i.e.) Female connectors (3-pin type) for the Ground and the Power lines that run to the fan.
- Leave the ground and the power lines on the molex, and the rpm sensor on the 3-pin.
- Remove the molex, and connect all three wires to a 3-pin connector.
Generally I like the latter of the 2 choices as the 3-pin can be used on most fan controllers, or it can be powered by one of the fan headers on the Mobo.
Note: This will mean loss of fan-control unless you wire in a controller. As fortune would have it, you already have one.
Another option would be to mod the connector for 7V. This will lower the rpm of the fan, but my understanding is that this may
put a little more stress on the PSU as it must account for the added resistance (PSU Gods, please comment or correct as required).
