Possibly persuing a career with Nvidia.

Hey guys, I'm at the age where people ask me what I want to be when I grow up, well I tell them i'm not sure but definitely in the computer field. Well with all this video card news going around I think it would be pretty cool to work for Nvidia! Wouldn't you!? How much schooling would I have to go through to get this kinda dream job? I live in georgia, and I know Georgia Tech has a couple of computer courses, but would they be enough? Anyway how hard would it be to get a job with Nvidia?

Certifications are more important than degrees. Get your A+ right away....start here

My best guess is you need to major in computer engineering, or electrical engineering

That's great if you want to work in your local PC repair shop.

The best bet is to go for a Computer Science and Engineering degree.

Thats the hellish one that has both EE and CS combined.

If anyone has a chance to work at Nvidia, it'd be someone with that degree from a good school.

While you are going to school for the stuff it would be a good idea to start chatting with someone that works in the company already also(after you are on your way ofc). Make them know your name. Who you know > what you know.

For working in a corporate company, they look mostly for degrees. nvidia does mostly hardware, so you would need an electrical engineering bachelor's degree so that you can work on integrated circuit design, test and integration.

Also, you will first need to get some sort of entry level experience in the field...

An A+ won't mean much, by the way.

Thanks for the advice guys! I'm lovin it. I would like to get to know an Nvidia employee to ask them what they had to do to get a job with them, mabye I will run across someone, who knows..... But what would be a good school to try to go to? I have like a Academic 3.6GPA, would this be enough to get into a college that I would need to attend to get Nvidia's attention?

Yep I'm coming up on 16 in April and i've been building computers for a long time now, and my experience keeps on building everyday I visit OCN, so by the time I want to get a job with Nvidia I will hopefully I will a good bit of knowledge to add to Nvidia! Ohh yeah i'll try my best to get the drivers sorted out , and thanks for wishing me good luck I would love to get a job like this and see prototype gpus before anyone else does. But it would kill me to keep a secret about the next card Nvidia will be releasing, but I'll try to keep a secret the best I can! hahahahahah
