hmmmmm, does Speedfan test airflow? lol j/k, I'm sure I lost a bit of airflow but I don't think it affected it too noticeably.

10.59"x8" that would be 269mm x 203mm, one per fan should work perfectly lol

If you want a 2.5cm gap each side one way, then yeah.

Ooh a fabric softener is a great idea... gonna try it now
post #16 of 18
I do not have softener sheets in my house, and have not used them for a number of years, however back when I was a laundry noob I did use them and from what I remember they were waxy and not every conducive to air flow..

Perhaps one that has already done a trip in the dryer would be better..

If any of you have some aluminum/nylon window screen roll in a dark corner of your basements.. you can take that stuff .. cut it to size!

Cut two though.

And over lap them so the grids intersect each others openings.. then solder/fasten them together in that position.. Fasten over your intake and it should accumulate all the dust you would never want to see in your box.

I also recommend a solid clean job to your rig every so often anyway..

Clean the all the internal fan blades with q-tips and high grade iso alcohol.. 91%.

Then get some anti-static pledge.. and wax the blades, air channelers.

As long as you have the aluminum/nylon screen mesh laying about (its like 10 bucks roll but should last for generations of pc users in your entire neighborhood!)

I think I'd rather buy filters. having to cut the swifers or panty hose seems like it would be a pain everytime you clean them.

Since the swifter would be up against your metal ( grounded ) case, any static would immediately go to ground.
