Recommendation for Motherboard / Memory Combo

Thread Starter
My asus formula motherboard, along with my geil evo one rams, has failed me. I am returning them (after many attempts to revive them), so I am looking for good ram/mobo combos.

I have a qx6850, 8800gt, and a 620 corsair hw.

This time...I WANT STABILITY with my preexisting processor and gpu. What options do i have? I am going to use it primarily for cpu intensive programming/compiling stuff and also for intensive gaming.

damn, that is bad i had a 650I that went dead on friday. Luckly didnt take any of my components along . Ummm OCZ are pretty good, i'd say a couple of sticks of them and i would say P5K but its crossfire, will work with nvidia in single card mode .

i'd like to venture that these recommendations are not particularly usefull. not every corsair stick will work with every EVGA board, and not every OCZ stick will work with every P5K board.

it's been a while since I built a system, so I'm not totally up-to-date on this stuff, but I've been helping a friend with his first build, and for quads it looks like the Abit IP35 Pro comes highly recommended. A bit pricey, but given that you have a thousand dollar processor I'm going to assume budget isn't an issue.

I haven't looked into RAM specifically for that board, but if you decide on that board you could easily just ask in the thread for that board here (it's like 600 posts long) what people have had success with. But really, if it's just stability you're after, all you need to do is go to the trusted manufacturers website's (corsair, OCZ, g.skill, crucial) and use the memory configurator. Any chip that comes up for the board you're looking at will be stable in that board.
