Ex-pat. From the UK but have been in the US since '98.

And the term "buggery" has quite a colourful background! Warning - do not read the following if of a delicate nature: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buggery

Given the eye watering intensity of it's definition you'd think it would be considered particularly vulgar, but bizarrely it is almost used with affection. It is considered a very mild swear word and few, if any, would take offence to being called a bugger in the UK.

I've always found it slightly puzzling...

Again, when I am considering a particular brand and model, how do I find out which IC it has?

And thank you for all of your replies so far. I'm just now beginning to understand which manufacturer's I should consider in order to narrow my search.

hey rx7speed, if the following is actually true, "mushkin it seems is usually one of the more expensive sticks of ram with many other brands being able to be had (at least in the 2x1gb market) that cost less and perform just as good.", and I just don't know it yet, then I could learn something here. I mean, does that mean that these mushkins are a little too expensive for what they are? Once I saw them, I honestly believed that they have a really great price. But if you can show me something I don't know, I will be forever grateful (and my bank account will thank you lol). Thanks, dude!

hang on a sec here I have to wipe the sarcasm off my head that you dripped all over

have a quick simple easy and honest answer. I didn't see those. be it blindness or they have changed prices I don't know but yeah

but yeah it has been about a month or so also since I last looked at ram as I just took a look now and everything seems lower. those tracers where something like 80-90 bucks last I looked and now are only 65.
