Wow, 6GB? What do you do with that? You must do some crazy stuff on your pc. So are you doing two dual-channels, one at 4GB, and one at 2?

have a quick simple easy and honest answer. I didn't see those. be it blindness or they have changed prices I don't know but yeah

but yeah it has been about a month or so also since I last looked at ram as I just took a look now and everything seems lower. those tracers where something like 80-90 bucks last I looked and now are only 65.
hehehehe ya, that was hard to making sure it didn't look like sarcasm!

But wow, in just a month or so??? Whoa, I can't wait to see what these prices will be like come early April (ya, buying time)! Am I doing this at the right time, or is this how it always is month-to-month?

for overclocking corsair sucks.
for price/performance corsair sucks

I can say this and be sure of it at least this time. older corsair stuff was great but most any of the newer chips for the 800mhz ram is promo/elpida/quimoda/nanya and so forth. usually not as good as the micron cihps. the 1066mhz series ram isn't even micron anymor but quimoda. this is for both there dominator and xms2 line.

sure all of the above can overclock but generally not as good as micron based ram.

plus your paying a hefty penny vs many other manufacts for a product that doesn't live up to "overclockers" ram.

that is as I said unless you have the older stuff. part of the reason I hope I don't have ot do another RMA. I'm lucky enough to still have micron based dominators

Or dumbinators.

Corsair is the way to go, in my opinion. I use 2 sticks of Corsair at work, never even had to reseat them. They are durable, never have had ANY problems from me, and are easily the way to go in terms of ram. THey're fast as well.

Second choice? G.skill. also fairly reliable, and good fast speed.

But honestly, imho, try to fit a Corsair into whatever budget you are looking at. I promise, you will not be dissappointed

Good luck man!

if he wants to do any overclocking he will be dissappointed with corsair. if he wants price to performance he will be dissapointed. unless he can buy used ones that still have the microns in them since corsair doesn't make them that way anymore. and then he has t o hope they don't die or he will get non-micron ram back.

it was a free upgrade. I had the 6400 pro's and raised a little stink about wanting the microns when they died. rep said I could and I ended up getting elpida base ram instead. so raised a little more of a stink being it wasn't what I was told I Would get and so they sent me the 8500 dominators instead.
but I bought these when ram was about 300 bucks for 2 gigs worth of ram also :-) so it has been a little while

Right on. I want memory that uses the Micron IC.

Good man. I'm glad to see that you didn't let them treat you like an annoying little bug!
