Swapping out Mobos - Page 3

Wait!

You can run sysprep and avoid having to re-install your OS if you're willing to put in about an hour of work into your system. It is not that difficult, and you can swap mobos without reinstalling.

Well, I'll admit it was my own fault. I was fixated on the motherboard I have now and refused to look for a better one... until I needed it. The Mobo I have now is made for SLI, and I'll probably be Crossfiring at a later point. Plus, with the way my case is set up, I don't have a long enough IDE cable to get both my DVD burner and my spare harddrive (my main drives are SATA, but I have a backup 2GB IDE drive I was going to use strictly for my paging file).

*sigh* Oh well. I guess I'll either have to live with my board as-is, or work up the guts to put all my stuff onto spare discs and take about ten hours to re-install everything. x__x (That's including all of my games, etc...)
Make yourself a new disk and slipstream it with SP3.
