My new PC

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

I'm about to buy a new PC, but I still have a few questions remaining before I really order the system.

1) I'm going to buy a Gigabyte P35-DS3L mobo in combination with the memory OCZ XTC Special Ops 2GB 900Mhz (OCZ2SOE9002GK). But I'm not positive the memory is compatible with the mobo. So do you guys know if it is? (Looked on google but I couldn't find anything helpful)

2) The CPU will be a Intel E8400. Do I need to flash the bios before it will work? And if I need to.. do I have to use another CPU?

Thanx in advance

Unstoppable

They should all work together fine. The RAM will definitely work. The only motherboards you have to worry about RAM with are DFI, for the most part. Also, I believe the E8400 will work in the mobo straight away, but I don't have personal experience, so I can't be certain. There are plenty of people who have recommended that Mobo / CPU combination, though, so I would be surprised if it was very hard to get running.

You can answer #1 for yourself quite easily: go to http://www.ocztechnology.com/ and click on the button that says "OCZ Ultimate Memory Configurator". Select your motherboard, and if the sticks you wanna buy come up they're compatible. If they don't, they either haven't been tested in the board or they didn't pass the tests.

my first P5N-E ate a pair of OCZ platinum rev. 2's, and I've seen other users with that board/RAM combo trouble. I'd say there's lots and lots of board/RAM compatability issues out there, on the whole....
