Playing PS2 on PC?

So I know I need a TV tuner or capture card (I can't go the VGA route), but I was wondering how the quality of the card affected the quality of the picture on my monitor. Can I just get something like:

or do I really need something nicer.

Or should I just buy a cheap TV with component-in?

Thanks
Will

You don't want to play your PS2 through your PC, it will introduce enough lag to make the experience far from pleasurable. Tons of monitors ship with composite video inputs though.

Ron is right, I have tried this before and no game will be playable due to lag (Time not FPS). You hit a key and it takes about a second for you to see it on the screen, making any game unplayable.

well that sucks. I just bought a new monitor a few weeks ago with only HDMI in, and I hadn't considered wanting to play ps2 games. So my only reasonable option is to just get a cheap tv with component? I dont really need a 3rd monitor and I dont actually have a tv.

grr...

*sigh*

I have a Pinnacle USB Tuner and I have no lag whatsoever. I can play DMC3 flawlessly.
