I have vista home premium. It has the media center, and i remembered that with xp you had to have media center to stream to your xbox. So basically what im asking is can i stream from my laptop to my xbox 360? Thanks guys.

yes of course you can, you should be able to use it as both a media center extender, as well as a media server (to just listen to your laptops music during gaming or something) you should be able to turn your xbox on and your laptop should have a little balloon on the bottom left asking if u wanna set up an extender... if not you can set it up in the media center settings. as for sharing your library in windows media player you can set it up in library sharing

If you want to streem divx videos over your network you have to conect them both and then go into windows media player and under "Player" open the tap and click on Media Sharing. Then enable Xbox 360 and then go to advanaced and make sure video is enabled. MP3's work the same way.

PS: Dont use Media Center It sucks, it wont play divx files for some readon because it cant find the proper codec
