Armor PSU fan restriction

Thread Starter
Anyone else had problems with the PSU fan intake being restricted in the Thermaltake Armor case when using the rear drive cage (the one that slides in and mounts by the PSU)?

I moved my drives from the front drive bay (with the LED fan) to that cage by the PSU, and now my PSU fan is really loud, and the air it's exhausting is very hot (much hotter than the rest of the case, which is quite cool). I think this is because the drive cage is restricting the 120mm fan intake on the top of the PSU (or side, in this case, since the PSU is flipped).

The first thing I did was to remove my HDD cage.

This is why good PSU's have there intake on the front of them, its not just the armor that has this problem, alot of midi-cases do

I don't see any way to get a PSU with the intake on the side/front unless it uses smaller fans. I've never seen a PSU with a 120mm fan anywhere but on top or bottom, anything on the side has always been 80mm fans (more noise).

I guess this is just a design oversight with the Armor. That rear drive cage appears to be useless.
