You'll get different ping times for everything. You will route differently if you connect to a server in NY, vs a server in FL, vs a server in CA.

I live in VA. If i use a speedtest to DC i can ride comcasts backbone all the way there, and i get WORSE pings then if i ping Atlanta. The reason is i get off the comcast backbone in VA and ride the real internet to Atlanta. The comcast routers in DC suck and ping bad
