AMD 5200+ not stable after 3.0Ghz overclock

Thread Starter
Check my sig, im running a 5200+ BRISBANE with 4GB Kingston DDR-800 RAM and a CoolerMaster Hyper TX2 cooler

I increased the Voltage to 1.5V and set the Multiplier to (x13)
then set FSB to 140.

Now this set it to 3.2ghz but running Prime95 crashed the system
i dropped it down in increments of
3.2, 3.18, 3.15, 3.13, 3.12, 3.1 @ 1.5V these all crashed running Prime95

So i decreased it to 3.08 @ 1.475V & havnt run Prime95 yet.
but whats this CPU good at if i cant freakn overclock more than 400Mhz?

I havnt touched VRam, or anythng else.

Is that 2 DIMM's or 4?
What are your memory timings?
Try these memory settings.
2T
Trc 24-26
Trfc 105 or 127.5

It depends on the specs for your particular ram.... usually around 2.1-2.2V

Can you post screens of the CPU,Memory and SPD tabs of CPU-Z at your highest stable OC.

its harder on the chip running 4 sticks of ram that could be your issue. try overclocking witth only 2 gb in your system

ok 1.) i havnt oc'd the ram or touched ANYTHING apart from Vcore and FSB
2.) I think my PC will run stable @ 3,0Ghz (which is lame) but i havnt tried Prime95 on it yet... untill later today when i finish work
3.) so u think 4GB ram is too much.. shuld i go VISTA or XP64?
which is better in terms of app & game compatibility???

It can be many things but the screens of CPU-Z would help.
Some AM2 MB's like the HT higher when OC'ed like 1200-1400
4 DIMMS are harder on the memory controller which is on the CPU.
If you raise the FSB without dropping the memory frequency, then your OC'ing the memory too.
Your memory timings maybe to tight.
