Right now i have a amd 5000 black in my comp, i want to buy this Opteron cpu- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819105015 , but i was wondering, it is socket am2, so can it go in any socket am2 board? or a an opteron am2 board? Right now i have the Asus M3A.Tyvm for you guys' time =]

Yes, it should work in any AM2 board.

Yes it would work but why would you want to downgrade to it? I mean the BE is a 65nm brisbane, the other is a 90nm. The BE has 2000 ht, the opteron has 1000. The BE is 65W, the opteron is 103W...there is no gain for you to go that way.
