For 4.05Ghz to 4.23Ghz

I am not sure what your running your ram at when trying to hit 4.0Ghz but, I find that this board does not like tight timings. That's why I have mine at 5-5-5-15. On my 680i I could run L&S 4-4-4-12 16Mhz no problem.
Oh I've tried everything including 5-5-5-18-58. I have no stability at all above 3.9HGz. I can boot XP and run SuperPi, but Orthos and Prime crash immediately regardless of any other settings. I've bolt modded and I've had the Ballistix up to 1080MHz (I'm running 846 1:1)...so I can only guess my e8400 is the culprit.

When did you buy the Ballistic? Is it the newer single sided sticks or the older double sided?

Double sided but...I think I have a problem. Memtest is showing errors whem OC'd (not at stock). I'm returning the Ballistix to the Egg and gonna try 2x1GB OCZ Titanium CL3 (PC2 6400). I hope the RAM has been holding me back and not the E8400.

O.K....got rid of the error permitting 2x2 Ballistix and put in OCZ Titanium CL3 6400. These are :

http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...l3_edition-eol

made for EPP and can show T1 timmings.

Now here is my question....Bios shows T1 and Memset shows T1 but CPUZ shows T2. Which is correct? I've read reviews that say non-SLI chip mobos can run T1 with these.

Although I've got some tight timings, I still can't get stable past 3.8Ghz (yes I tried 5-5-5-15 T2). I was hoping the RAM was holding me back.
