new build allmost ready to purchase

Thread Starter
So After waiting and waiting for the Q9450 to be released I have decided to get an E8400 so now that I have my whole build specced out I still need to figure out my cooling options. Im gonna be using a CM Stacker 830 with 7 or 8 case fans. What I need some help with is deciding what cpu cooler to use and which fans to buy. Fans wise I need 5-6 120 mm fans that are relitivly quiet and have good airflow ive heard that yate loons are good but there are soo many fans out there to pick from I would prefer one with led's and shiny's. On the cooler end of the spectrum I was looking at something along the lines of a tuniq tower 120, a TRUE, or maby an IFX-14. Also would a fan controller be necisary and if so what is a reliable one that can run that many fans.

for the rest of my build is here
I allready have the case psu and have ordered the CPU and an a saphire 3870 x2
I will be ordering the rest soon once I have decided on a cpu cooler and fans.

any comments would be appreciated thanks

I have had great luck with the Tower 120. Look to Zalman for a nice 4 or 6 channel fan controller. The Sunbeam is nice but the dang lights on the front are like spotlights.

sunbeam cases are built really crappy. get a well known case maker and remember you get what you pay for with cases.

sunbeam rheobus fan controller is what he is talking about I believe. The lights are quite bright. With that many fans you'll want a fan controller. Especially since you'll want to get high cfm fans and then tune them down for noise.

I'd recommend the TRUE, and then a Scythe slipstream fan, for the case I'd go with yate loons as they perform well and are cheap.

Give me a reason not to. might do 2 stealth drives :

This case will have a lot of fans will I be able to use all of them with one fan controller like with more than one fan per channel? Because most of the fan controllers available only have up to 6 channels.

check the watts per channel rating and then the fans, the Sunbeam rheobus is 20W/channel, so as long as you don't exceed that you could use more than one fan on that channel.
