2x 8800 GTX's watercooling

Thread Starter
So it's time for me to overclock the cards and I really mean overclock to the max.

This is going to be my first watercooling project so mind my noobiness.

I have this list:

rad: BlackIce GTX360
res: SWIFTECH MICRO
pump: SWIFTECH MCP655
blocks: DD
rad fans: SCYTHE SFF21E

Noise is important.

I'm not looking to watercool the Q6600 right now because I'll probably upgrade to a faster CPU in the future and it's quite cool at 3.2Ghz with the tuniq. The cards are hot at stock speeds and need to be cooled well.

Any help is really appreciated!

Seems like you have done your research For coolant I would use (Distilled Water + G11 + PT_Nuke) seems to be the coolant choice here on OCN. Good Luck

I am running distilled with a small amount of Pentosin blue, PT Nuke (biocide), and a little UV dye (for leak testing auto rads).
I'm going to flush my system and test distilled, PT Nuke, and Feser UV Dye. Check it out here
They're an awesome shop with EXCELLENT customer service.....

BTW get the GTX 480 if you're cooling two cards and plan to add a CPU in the future.....trust me it's worth the small increase in price.....and judging by your system you can afford it

That's a good res too......I prefer the cylindrical shaped ones by EK, but that one looks like an excellent design, especially for the price.

What about the number of fans? 3 for the 360 (or 4 for the 480). Would these be enough?

And about the res, shall I worry about the size? Will the swiftech micro be enough to cool both cards (and a cpu in the future)?

Thanks alot guys!

And looks like they cool better too.

My lower GTX stays idle at 75-80C!

That's great! The EK it is..

So this is my updated list:

blocks: EK-FC8800GTX Full Cover Waterblock for nVidia 8800GTX
res: EK-RES250 Rev.2
rad: Black Ice GTX 480
pump: Laing D5 Vario/Swiftech MCP655
G11 Coolant Additive
PT_Nuke

$530+!!

Will the G 1/4" Threads, 1/2" OD be enough?
