While this may not be a great time for hardcore enthusiasts (those of you who can afford to buy the 3870x2 or the 9800GTX, it is a great time for budget builders. The E2x00 series is dropping in price every day, the AMD X2 chips just keep dropping in price, and DDR2 is dirt-cheap right now.

And add to that the bonanza of mid-range video card goodness that has more than made up for the 8600/2600 fiasco last year... The HD 3850/3870 with their new price cuts, the 8800GS/GT/GTS, and the 9600GT - this is the perfect season to build a budget gamer's box.

Just keep your head up, don't worry.

Also think of all these new products as a beta version of a new game. Alot of what happens to new technology is from what people at places like here do with the current products. We do things that they don't intend but prove its potential to be better than marketed. Thus making manufactures to upgrade on our testing. Very much like beta game.

Whew, I thought by the title of this thread that it was gonna be one of those "I hate my life, no one likes me, I'm thinking of just ending it all" kind of threads.

Im just not planning on building again until we move past the Quad core, Xfi, DDR2, 8800 series, z-5500 trends of right now.

Ima wait for a 100 percent revamp.

I went with ht-600's and they are way better than z-5500's IMO. The octo-core wont be out for a while but I bet they will be awesome. Also I would like to see some cheap ddr3 ram and a 8800 g92/ 9800gt equivalent in the 9 series, not top of the line but great for the price and runs everything.
