Then your friend is an idiot. I've had my Mac for 8 months now and only ever had a problem when I hacked a Leopard disk and installed it on my system.

I thought we agreed not to judge systems when we've only heard stories of others'? Ok, in that case, since we're back to that, Dell sucks then because everyone I've ever known that has owned a dell laptop or desktop has had some kind of a hardware problem.

Hm well, the keyboard thing was a known issue, and there is an update out for that. I've never experienced this problem, though.

There is a way to eject a CD. While the computer is starting up, hold the mouse button for like a minute. I think it's stupid that they don't have some sort of force-eject hole.

Actually, I think the regular MBs are the better value. You get a weaker graphics card and 1GB less memory (which you can upgrade yourself for cheap), but you save a lot more money on those two things.

Maybe, but the price is still the same.

Actually, the MB is the only Apple product I've ever bought. The prices keep me away from pretty much everything else, except iTunes money for buying music. I have a Shuffle, but I won it in a raffle.

Sucker people into buying new laptops... I suppose there are people who would buy a new system for those two new things, but do you really think that the purpose is to get everyone who has a laptop to get a new one? Reasonably speaking, that is.

How, exactly? With a MBP, you get a better graphics card (big plus), 1GB more memory, and a slightly faster CPU. But you pay about $700 more.

I think the regular MBs are more worth it.

That sucks... I honestly don't know anyone in real life who has one that was disappointed.

The components are all laptop parts. The memory, the CPU and everything (that also raises the price since C2D laptop chips are more expensive).

Also, note that Mac laptops use Core 2 Duos. Think about that before comparing them to compaq systems with ECS boards and pentium dual-cores.

The fact that you don't know for sure and make such a bold statement with the word "probably" in it just shows you're just making comments because you "don't like."

When you compare the price, make sure you're comparing compaqs that have C2D chips and not pentium dual-core chips. Most of the PC laptops I see now are using pentium dual-cores.

I <3 my MBP.
I've had it for around 8 months. Haven't had any problems with it. NONE. No system freezes or corrupt drives. I use it every day, and I'm extremely happy with it.

I heard something about Apple releasing a laptop with the multi-touch pad awhile ago, cool to see that the rumor was true.

With a MBP you get a bigger screen with a higher res, a decent GPU and a good CPU upgrade...plus...it's silver and not white...that white color is absolutely gross...looks like a cheap home appliance color to me

See... Take it from the smart people, not the stupid noobs who do stuff to their computers you don't even know about.

Oh really? My 4yr old G4 iMac has been running Tiger ever since it came out and hasn't had a SINGLE problem with the file system. None of my Macs have, I doubt one ever will.

Now the price gap is closing between Apple laptops and windows laptops, but i dont like the look of the MBP. For college im getting an ultra portable that i can barely tell is in my backpack and that can run on battery almost all day, not looking to be a trendy soab.

Sorry but everytime i see apple i think of trendy people who look down on you for not having an apple as well.

Oh and my good friend who has a mac hates it. Just for the record.

I'm actually considering a Mac Book Pro for my next laptop; that is, if they release a mobile version of the 9600GT.
