You changed my words in that quote?

Look, I'm not defending Macs. I'm defending against your claim that I'm stupid and/or a fanboy because I prefer a Mac laptop over a PC. You SAID those exact words.

The prices ARE generally higher. But to some people, it is WORTH IT, it is made up by the software they like to use. THAT is what's not clicking in your head.

I like iMovie HD compared to windows movie maker
I like iCal compared to windows' datebook
I like Apple Mail compared to outlook
I like iPhoto
I like Xcode compared to visual
I like Garageband
I like The Graphing calculator my Mac comes with
I like My low-maintenance operating system

And I KNOW the software is "controlled." But if it's software I like, then what's the problem? I'm not getting ripped off if it's what I want.

So quit telling me and others who are happy with what they have what's best for us.

I never called you a fanboy, but I certainly said you don't have an open mind and tolerance for differing preferences - that's all.

Wait..so Apple uses controlled software and Microsoft doesn't? OS X utilizes more open source software then Windows ever will.

Back on topic...

I wanted to point that out, but I didn't want to take on 2 points in the same post...

Anyway, you're right. With darwinports/macports, there are many open source files that you would find on Linux ported to OSX. And of course there's everything else out there on the net, not just those.

i'm so happy about this. I'm getting a lappy for college, ad i'm sticking with my lifelong motto, a desktop is always a pc so I can overclock and tinker, and a lappy is ALWAYS a mac. I was mad when the stupid macbook air came out, this update is very pleasing.

Macbooks are great build quality and design. Thats what you pay for not the sum of the components . . . end of comparison w/ other pc's please. . . its getting really old/redundant, not to mention that they can run windows now so we cant complain about not using the potential of the components (ie video card)

These look really nice though. I would never get on b/c its not my style but i would recommend it to others and would love it if my gf got one.
