The server chips seem to be good. Also, an 8x Multiplier is better. My system is SO much quicker at a 450 FSB than at 400.

Sorry my friend you cannot just make posts like that. You don't have the required rep. Please P.M. him.

Wheels: Maybe someone can pick it up in store for you and then ship it. With the tax and shipping it would come to $224 approx.

Agreed go with the quad core for all around use (IMO). I run my B3 3220 at 405fsb (3240mhz) but it gets pretty darn hot. The G0 stepping of any of the quads is good to go. I wish that I had waited to get a G0 3220 but oh well.

They can run at some good fsb, I am still having issues trying to get mine stable at high fsb but I can run as high as 495 and get into windows or run memtest fine but it will crash randomly in windows at anything above about 470 or so.

The nice thing about the xeon G0 steppings is that unlike there B3 counterparts they have a high thermal spec then there regular desktop counterparts.

G.L. finding a good deal on one, get which ever G0 quad you can find cheaper.

Get the Xeon, I wish I had, I didn't know they even existed when I got my Q6600 a few months ago.

I would look around and make sure people aren't having strange errors with what ever programs you run most.

I for one really would love this chip, but if other people aren't having success with the motherboard I run/programs I use, than I'll throw down the extra couple bucks for the q6600.

At this point for me personally, I wouldn't invest in less than 4 cores..GL HF

Why would you have issues with certain programs because of the cpu? Its got the same structure as the Q6600 with a couple of added features so it will do anything the 6600 will do.
