I have a Sony Vaio with a 2.8Ghz P4HT Northwood chip on an Asus P4SD-VX motherboard. The chipset is Intel Springdale-G i865GI am not sure how overclocking is accomplished with this combination. Right now the CPU runs at about 113F and the motherboard at 104F. I've read that the Northwoods run a bit hot as it is.
I have a background in electronics and generally build my computers, though I didn't (obviously) build this one. I've stayed away from overclocking and haven't done it before. I am curious now and might want to overclock this machine.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Take care,
Erick
