HD3870, 9600GT, 8800GS 768MB, 8800GT, 8800GTS 512MB, HD 3870x2. Any of those would do decently to very well. Depends on your budget mostly tho.

100-200: IF you are willing to tweak and OC, go for the 3870, otherwise the 9600GT. 200-250: 8800GT, hands down.
250-350:8800GTS 512mb(the 8800GT w/ an OC can match this but the GTS512 will do a lil better OC'd because of the full 128sp.)
350+: dual 9600GTs(if you have an SLi board and sufficent PSU) or HD 3870x2

Ah, in that case, I suppose an explanation is due.

LCDs work best at what is called their "native resolution". This number represents how many pixels are physically present on the display. For example, my monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050, so there are 1,764,000 separate pixels comprising my screen. If I were to run a game at 1280x800, the image data from 1,024,000 pixels would have to stretch and distort to fill the remaining 740,000 pixels. Since they physically can't line up perfectly, there will be some blurriness or distortion when running at resolutions other than native.

So anyway, my point is that when you're using an LCD, you're best off playing your games (or doing anything) at the native resolution, and it's very worth it to get a powerful enough video card to make that doable.
