Dude, this is not heroin... I don't think there's a problem if the guy's stuffy dad won't let him buy hardware and he finds a way to sneak it into the house. It's not like he's ordering prostitutes while his dad is out of town...

He did use one word. "9600GT" is not a word, it's a set of numbers and letters. Look it up.

I would personally go with the 3870. Seems to be better "all around".

The 3870 has a better cooling mechanism, and I like ATI. They're about the same price, ad I know I can run SupCom amazingly.

On the other hand, if you do programming in CUDA you might want an nvidia card.

I have already seen many benchmarks on the 9600gt and 3870. I would not base my decision on just Gamespot's (In which the 3870 was shown creamed in two games) because honesty it's not very detailed and ever since that Kane and Lynch incident in which a reviewer got fired (I think that's how you spell it) I am wondering if Nvidia might have possibly bribed them. Anyways I've look at other benchmarks like on Tom's Hardware and have found out that the 3870 leads the 9600gt in most games by about 15% without AA or AF on. But when it was turned on performance was very close. If only Evga or XFX came out with a dual slot cooling design for them 9600gt's, I am not willing to buy and install a new cooler because if I messed up it would just cause too much trouble for me. Right now I am planning on getting a HIS 3870 ICEQ3 because of it's superior cooling and it's only $20 more then the stock cooler. If there's anything else someone wants to add that may sway my opinion at the last moment, then that advice is appreciated.

Honestly I would wait for the price drop, that is when the 9800GX2 arrives. It is too early to tell which card is better. They perform neck to neck. You will have to wait till the driver to mature.
