How are these for RAID?

I'm gonna be setting up a RAID 0 array in my next build and was thinking about using 2 of these. Are they good drives for a RAID array? I've had WD drives in the past, so I'm not concerned about the company.

The WD AAKS and KS drives are great for RAID 0. Also look into the Seagate 7200.11 drives.

Ok, thanks. I was hoping those would be good because it's a pretty good price for a 500GB.

dang dude real good price. is there any disadvantage to having a big hard drive like a 500 gb? is there any higher chance of failure or anything?! i want to set up a RAID0 but iv never thought about a drive failing but reading on these forms makes me nervous!

I've heard the 1TB HDDs are not as reliable. But that was just through the rumor mill. I think WD just released a single platter 320Gb drive. So the bigger disks should become more stable as the number of platters decreases. But the 500Gb drives are fine.

If you cool them you can decrease life rate , and if you but them in "silencing thing" with rubber connection , it might decrease it too , because vibration can cause damage...

I guess.
