Its near impossible to get it running on 32bit Windows XP, so if you're trying to run it on 64-bit Vista, you might as well just start from scratch and recode the game

Its way easier to use the PS1 version, although I'm not going to elaborate

I took the easy way out. I just installed it on my other computer which is xp only, I still have to install audio and video drivers on it, I neglect it a little bit

I used to work for a guy who had an emu look in the window of his van while at a stop light in town, it freaked him out a bit to say the least

Emu's are awsome man! I saw this Discovery channel thing on the weekend all about genetically modifying emus to make them into some freaky kind of pseudo-raptors, it was so sweet!

And you were on track with the whole virtual pc thing, just drop the c and add an s.

I thought that PC FF7 was windows 98 only? I know I couldn't get it to work on 2000...not sure if I ever tried it on XP.

for some reason I think I had it on XP, the reason i think that is because I never used 98 much. I bought the game towards the end of its retail life, i know when I got it 8 had already been out for a while.

blahhh this is such a pain in the _________________ to get working, I don't recall this last time it was installed.

It works on XP but not completely 100% error free. There are quite a few hoops you have to jump through to make it work in the first place and after that there are a few points in the game where you have to do additional fixes (mostly minigames). I did, however, complete the game recently on XP so it is definitely playable if you put a little effort and research into it.
