last time i bent a pin i used a pair of needle nose pliers small ones. i just grabbed the pin down low near the base and squeeze it straight mabye not the best way but it worked great for me

For socket-a cpus an xp-tmc doubles as a pin straightener... if you have a cpu that doesn't just sink into the socket like it should just pop it in an xptmc, pop it back out and it's good as new. There's also the credit-card trick for a whole row of pins.

Sweet! I used that on my X2 when it fell into my machine, and bent nearly every edge pin on one side, it's easy this way!

This only works with 939 I'm guessing? Although you could always use a 0.7mm pencil for 754, 0.9mm for older sockets. And AMD has come out with their pinless socket, Socket F that has 1216 'pins'.

It is LGA, which means the socket has it. You can probably do somewhat the same for that.

You can use a razor blade and some raeally steady hands to bend back LGA pins. There very thin and fragile
