Okay, between this, and the pictures of a skulltrail WC set-up in CD's thread, I'm pretty sure I'm owning myself continuously by using the ThermalTake kit...these look so much neater as well. Is your processor lapped? I get higher temps @ 4.0 on my WC'd 9650

EDIT: Is that a full tower?

thats a nice looking piece of work there.....you should be very proud

One thing though....It looks as though most of the airflow takes place in the bottom half of your case.....any intake fans up top?

The front has an intake fan and the the top has a fan holder, it's usually set as exhaust

Thread Starter
Yea my Processor is lapped too!
and the tubbing is 1/2 ID blue UV!
I just flip the back fan to suck in so the nb & sb stay nice and cool and my power supply has a big 150mm sucking out.
Found that when u have your board BTX style that the back fan sucking in seems to cool better.
Heres a pic of the lap job i had it lapped with a tuniq that iam selling now with box and
everything!!!

The tuniq cooled very well just like the water look better!!!

even with 480GTX, you won't be able to get it that low.

how do u test the load temp?

My idle temp @ 4.0ghz around 42c-52c, i wonder if the extreme edition runs cooler @ higher clock.
you better believe it. that temp is right in the ball park for a quad. so think before you post on doubting a guy and knows what he is doing.

Hey man I wanted to let you know 51 is a great load temp. I'm running this same CPU on Air. I need to mess with volts more but anywhere above 1.4v on this thing gives me 50+ I've done a lot of testing with temps in the low 60's and I haven't hurt anything yet, who knows about total lifespan. But honestly I don't see any big improvements except in benchmarks from 3.6 to 4.0. I seriously think that for my chip the sweetspot is 3.6. I can get a stable cool overclock with any multiplier and clock settings I choose, without touching the vid.

The temps might be a big high because you have an x-flow rad, IIRC those are only single pass, while normal rads are dualpass.
