So far the only place in the US you can get them is in Bestbuy.

A thing you may want to considder is getting the smaller version Gateway FX laptop and then buying a second hard drive and better cpu for a lot less. Mine worked out just under $1700 with the cpu and hard drive upgrades

Well...The basic version like mine has the 1440 x 900 resoluion which doesn't botther me as the screen is already 17"...Once you go over that resolution on this screen with regular usage you will find it hard reading text and so on.

As for upgrades...A socket P cpu is what you should get for this laptop. Maybe the new T9300 or T9500. Even a T7700 should do you fine for a lot less.

As for hard drives. Since it already has 1 x 250GB 5400rpm drive in it I would just get a second one to raid with it. The performance is good if you want to look in the Gateway FX thread in my sig. For best performance though you will want to get 2 x 200GB 7200rpm drives but they are way expensive and the 5400rpm raid setup gives you more then enough already.

As for buying one you can try other places such as forum.notebookreview.com and make a wanted post in the for sale section as I see there is already a few where people made offers for theirs. Other then that you can try the USA ebay and find out if anyone would ship internationally.

Good luck
