Good question.

Portal is something else aint it.

/scratches head

probably I would say 7 or 8.. but ONLY if you take your time, think, and approach the game as more than just another fps. The time-shifting abilities (i found) are much more than just a gimmick-bolt-on; VERY often the skills are essential to a situation (which is a good thing - or they really would be just gimmicks). I found myself often stopping, assessing the situation and really thinking about how to obtain my objective with the greatest flair (and carnage).

It was a decent game...fortunately I didn't buy it, but borrowed it from a friend for a couple weeks who had been waiting for it to be released. Man was he mad...the game has a lot of bad points.

The time shift abilies are so short that you can only use them against a couple opponents...if they happen to be close together. There is no sprint option, so in theory you are always moving at a slow jog...even if a tank is chasing you. The weapons have a hideous spread. Even zoomed in the spread will not focus on a guy in a second story window across the street which is well with in typical pistol range...heck it is a 50/50 chance to hit a guy who is coming around the front of the car you are hiding around. Which is the only tactic that you can do...hide behind some thing and wait for them to come to you. You have no health what so ever...two or three hits and you're dead and it never gets better. Your slo-mo/time stop abilities duration and health never increase. Plus the rifle you get in the begining is what you will be using most of the time at the end so your weapons never even get better...there is a crossbow thing you get that is actually better then any of the firearms, but it is slow to shoot. And the whole way through you really don't know what is going on. If it wasn't for the manual to tell you the story you simply would have no clue as to what is going on and why.

The good side is that it is a breath of fresh air to FPS. It isn't shoot and jump as fast as you can. You have to be extremely careful at all times so there is no charging in firing your biggest gun. There are some mild puzzles that you can choose to figure out...if you don't there will be a notification to hit a key and it will automatically do the correct time ability for you. The time stop ability is nice additition to the slo-mo that has been appearing in a lot of FPSs these days (reverse time has no combat benfit...damage and spent ammo can't be undone...if a guy spots you you can reverse time and he will still spot you again...even time stop doesn't stop them from spotting you.)

I would pick it up from a bargin bin...but, unfortuately it really falls short of the mark. Though some of these cheats to increase the durations of the time abilities sound like it could really make it fun...I might have to go borrow the game again.

Even a cheat to just make the abilities last twice as long would make for a very fun game.

Are there any for increasing your run speed? I am going to be borrowing this game again this weekend. Hmm, I really should look into it my self and see if I can figure it out.
