My Q6600 too hot? - Page 3

Eurgh reseat, whats the point? Nothing ever changes from a damn 'reseat' Grr just annoys me how people suggest it as like a magical solution, even though it never works

Stock heatsinks are naff, get an aftermarket one =]

DEATH TO THE WORD 'RESEAT'

Thread Starter
Ok, I finally received the Tuniq 120. It only took me about 30mins to install (to my surprise). I used the thermal compound that came with the cooler. I followed the horizontal line method without further spreading based on quad-core instruction.

Right now, I am running the same WoW and couple of other applications with case closed. Even when it was open, I used to hit 75 regularly. Right now, it is barely hitting 38! This is with case closed AND the fan set at lowest speed!

I think my stock cooler must have not been sitting correct because it could not have been that bad. Neverthless, I am very happy now. With case closed, I believe I have room to OC finally. I'll probably try 3.2GHz shortly.

Very satisfied with Tuniq!
