Thread Starter
So what i want to know is whats better the Pro's and Con's of each board.

I know that alot of people here will say Intel Chipset for not using SLI and nForce obviously if you are but i want to know what performs better in each chipset Thanks Ross.

Intel Chipsets are better overclockers compared to the Nvidia chipset mainboards.
Nvidia chipset mainboards have a higher failure rate than intel chipset mainboards.

ASUS + Nvidia = EPIC PHAIL, I forgot who told me that, and I really believe it due to the fact, my board failed on me endlessly.

And as you said, SLI go with nvidia chipset, non, then go with intel chipsets.

This is my thought exactly. Nvidia chipsets have been so bad for Asus that I actually did not buy an Asus mainboard this time (first time ever). They are terrible OCers; FSB holes, stability issues and constant bios revisions and updates.

Stay with Intel chipsets. P35 is turning out to be a very stable overclocker. X38 if you want to go dual Xfire GPU. X38 is also turning out a bit better FSB results for a slight premium.

Yeah, unless you are going with SLI, the intel chipsets overclock better, have better stability track records, often times have a lower price tag, run cooler, seem to have a lower failure rate.

So uhh, use Nvidia... if you want SLI and thats about it, or if you want a real "interesting" experience in overclocking, go Nv, you shan't be disappointed.

This coming from someone who once swore by the nForces...

I'm still crying~

Because of ASS. Woops I mean Asus. -_-)

They have bad technical support and RMA procedures NOW.

Yes, Intel Chipsets are usually the way to go. If you want to multiscreen, just add another video card. Nothing wrong with that.

P35 is good enough, but crossfire, instead of SLI, go with X38, both chipsets support new CPU's, if that is what you are also looking into. Or you can wait for the x48 which many seem think they would be ultimate.

edit:
Disagreeing is good.

Everyone has their own opinions on their experience. I'm just bad luck with ASUS. But the 780i, I heard overclocks as well as the P35/x38, or could go even better. Many are loving it too.

And I love evga too. Their products are good. Their MIR are also good. Never tried RMA yet with them, but they are good in my list. Too bad, not a hard gamer, so would not need SLI, so I am going to avoid getting the nvidia chipsets, until later.

I wouldn't listen to those fellas, the Asus boards with the Nvidia chipset are amazing overclockers, the only issue is they require a bit of tweaking, even to get stock settings, but once you get used it and learn advanced overclocking, they are very powerful boards.

I am on my second board, the first died because I did some stupid overclocking (high overclock with stock cooling).
