i don't see anything specifically on changing the ram timings but there are two options one of which is in this picture, and the other one is changing the voltage of the ram
sorry about how huge these pictures are because the camera on my phone wont take anything less than 1280x960

no thats fine. But you might want to ask someone who uses that board. I'm not familiar to it sorry

ahhh after doing a stress test on 410FSB with OCCT it failed immediately after the minute of idle. Ehh! this is frustrating trying to break 3.0mhz

The SpeedStep setting is also in the Advanced BIOS. It is called EIST on this board. To get to the RAM timings, press Ctrl + F1 on the main page of the BIOS.

alright now that the speedstep is off what else would it take for me to break the magic 3mhz?

EDIT: i got it it work but for stupid people like me just to clarify that you have to type Ctrl + F1 THEN go to your settings to see your ram timings. i thought it would just have a pop up to change your timings, but also i have changed my timings back to 5-5-5-18. Just now waiting for you guys to help me break that magic 3

I've been running my e6550 @ 2.80GHz 24/7 for a while. But i've been able to run 3.15GHz with FSB @ 450; voltage, i kept @ 1.35v (not Auto, which bumps it up to 1.4v). The RAM is on Auto, which my P35-DS3L sets @ DDR2-900 (which allows for a 1:1 match). The timings on Auto look like this, which is what i used the first time i OC'd to 3.15GHz. But i kept them at stock/5-5-5-15 this time (pictured below).

There's not much else to my OC--and i am still on the stock HSF w/ AS5 (which lowered temps 3-5C) ass opposed to the Intel thermal 'pad'. And my 3.15GHz temps don't go over 61C under load (ORTHOS). I'm sure there are other things i should be tweaking to go higher.
