question on what video card to get - Page 2

Something else I just realised, that board you mentioned has 3-way SLi, now I know nothing about this but would assume that it means running 3 cards in parallel. 3 GX2's would give you 6 gpu's to sit on those 4 (2 imo) cpu's.

Dose anybody have any idea how much this GX2 will coast when it comes out? Is it going to be like $900?

my other options is to run two 880gts for about $600 or I can run three 9600gt for $600. My mother bord can run three but dose is get me better performance with three and sli?

If I get the 2 gts or the 3 gt's how much fast will the gx2 be? This computer is starting to coast a lot of money. I'm at $2200 right now with out a 24" LCD. I want this computer to last for 4 years like my old computer did. Well it's still working but the ATI video card can't play the new games.

1. the GX2 will be $600 dollar at launch (supposedly)
2. You can't TRI-sli 9600GT's
3. 1 Gx2 will outperform 2x9600GT, but WILL be outperformed by 2x8800GTS's.

That's not that bad
OW I should ove none that

well I think I'm going to go with the (2)8800gts I can runs these card for $600 or I can spend $1200 on the new gx2 and be faster then the (2) 8800gts.

What brand is the best gts to go with? I read that the xfx are not that good.

It's not worth it to get (2) 8800gtx for $860. I figure It's a little faster then 2 8800gts but it's not worth the moeny right??

Thanks guys

well it seem like a lot of you are running the EVGA 8800GTS so I think I'm going to go with that brand.

Do I have to buy something else to run two 8800gts cards or no? Will they be cooling fine or do I have to buy a extra cooler for them, and if so what one. And what's with all the talk I keep reading about SLI? The motor board I'm goting has this and the gts say they have sli.
