Homemade projector. *Video* - Page 3

That's it, I HAVE to do this. It would look awesome in my room, plus I already have a 15" Compaq lappy that is outdated and I barely use. So should I get looking for that same overhead projector on ebay? Also, are you going to make the guide here in the next couple days on how to construct it?

Edit: Also, you said there were some negatives...what would those happen to be?

Yeah, I'll write up a guide by this weekend. I'm still watching the 40yr virgin... And eating my roommate's rice w/ some soy sauce. So lonely Q.Q

This is a perfect mod for those dead LCD monitors... The ones with dead back lights...

I have a dead 4:3 19" monitor that I'd like to try this with, but the closest thing i have to a projector is a 3 million candle power spot light... Might try something when i get bored and see if it works...

Cheap and 1920x1200 don't go in the same sentence. That projector ended up costing over $1k...

Moot's, you're on the right track. Better to start the way you did, then break some expensive panels.

Did you use the Dell 2407WFP? I saw you had issues with 1080p over component.

Dell 2407WFP? I never used any dell screens. I ended up using a Toshiba screen. It had the best contrast, and the anti-glare coating came off perfect. The issue with 1080p over component was the xbox 360's fault. This was back in 2006 when 1080p just started going mainstream, so support was crap.
