Im getting tired of waiting for nothing, right now the only real motivation i have for not switching to Intel is the fact that i dont have the cash for a decent quad and the mobo to go with it.

If I was in dire need for a system, I'd probably buy Intel parts if I was starting all over, but you have a decent processor, what do you really need to go to Intel for? I'm just saying, all these people say they'll switch to Intel, but I don't see the point in spending the money, if your intention is to gain some FPS in a game. If it's down to number crunching/encoding, that's another story I guess.

I don't care about stock clocks, but Intel is making it very hard for AMD with these 4 Ghz Wolfdales and Yorkfields....Means for enthusiasts AMD has to get up there also while I am sure for prebuilts AMD will still be pretty good, but the cost of being the cheapest is the fact that they are essentially bleeding money, and they are about to bleed out, if the takeover rumors are true.

I hope they get back in the game, I would love to make my summer build an AMD, I really would.

Its more of a next time I replace my cpu, im going to go for the best preforming cpu I can get with them money I have-no matter which company it comes from. I think AMD isn't doing that good of a job getting out of this hole they are in, because they aren't giving much hope. I'd rather have them say ok well we are working on quad cores this fast and are readying our 6&8 core cpu's running around whatever but we arent to sure when these will be ready rather than not having anything higher than a 2.6GHz quad which we dont even know how it will perform.

When that time starts to come around, I will wait, if they give me something to wait for.

That would be my CPU but at 3ghz.

Phenom 9900 in Q2? Sounds good if its 3ghz (judging by the 9600 being 2.6ghz it should be around there.) Might finally have a CPU to upgrade to if it overclocks better then the current Phenoms.
