Have to disagree. I've found that for gaming the best "monitor" is actually a 1080p television. I have used a 65in Samsung DLP at 1080p(1920x1080) for CoD4 & Bioshock and the amount of visible detail was simply amazing without taking the massive framerate hit accompanied by the higher resolutions of 30in. monitors, and the colors were simply vibrant as hell for the most beautiful picture I've ever had. My eyesight is 20/15 left eye, 20/25 right when corrected, and I've been told by women that I have a very good color sense for a guy, make of that what you will.
But yeah, even if you buy a 40in 1080p Westinghouse, you're doing better in my opinion.
EDIT: By doubling the screen size but keeping the 1900-ish resolution, you can see the details that were being rendered the whole time that you couldn't see before. Even someone with test pilot eyesight would benefit from that, especially when making long range shots on multiplayer FPSes. In addition, 1080p tvs tend to have several input plugs, which would be a real plus for the console gamers out there.
