It's called a business partnership. Get your fanboy crap out of here.

I actually disagree with you on ATI's purchase not being a smart move. I do agree that it did impede their ability to focus on and release a serious C2D competitor much earlier than they did/will, but in the mean time ATI's relatively successful GPU lines have been a steady source of income. They diversified their product line to plan for the long term, and give an extra buffer if indeed Phenom was not a hot seller.

I don't see the part where AMD asked for help...however I did read something that said AMD paid IBM $400 Million to help them. Heck, it says Intel spends $6 Billion a year on the same thing, six times the amount per year that AMD does, so I guess Intel is six times more pathetic?

Well this can only be good news.

And for who ever said this is pathetic:

Ever think that it was pathetic that Intel, having x10 the size and funds of AMD, only last year regained the performance crown after 5 years of uber pwnage from the A64?

No. Why? Because you are a fanboy.

This is mutually beneficial?

They're falling behind and having to pay someone else to keep up. It IS, indeed, pathetic. Do I hate AMD? Certainly not; ever since I started building computers, I have (and will probably continue to) used AMD chips. I'm just stating it as it is.

Yes, this is what I'm trying to say. It has nothing to do with love/hate/whatever for AMD.

If you had a company with 50 people, and you wanted to do better than a company with 300 people, what would you do?

I can't see what your saying. How is this a vulnerability? And how does it arouse pity? (serious question) All I see is business. This is IBMs business and AMD is its customer.

You don't agree that AMD is vulnerable to intel? Yes, this is business. I understand that. I have nothing against AMD or intel or IBM or partnerships or anything.

Again, I'm just using the definition of the word. I'm not bashing on AMD in any way, shape, or form.

AMD once had the better technology, now they are having to pay someone off to try to catch up. Why, what do you call that?
