Odd Wolfdale Issues?

Thread Starter
So i bought an E8400 and a Gigabyte P35-DS3L, and every time i restard the computer my overclock goes away. It runs games stable at 4.0 with 1.36 vcore, 5-5-5-15 timings at 1.9v. Every time i shut the computer down, when i reboot it does an overclock protection and resets the oc. Anyone have any ideas?

anyone think it might be power supply issues? i figure an 800w would be ok with an 8800

Not likely, unless it is a terrible 800w.

I've got a 750w, rock solid.

Is there a specific warning code being given by the board, or is it simply "overclock protection"?

i know its a kind of overclock protection, and it starts booting the pc, then stops and reboots with stock settings. There is no message, and the OC is very stable. Have been gaming on it for almost 7 hours now, no issues. Its not the cmos jumper either, because the entire bios does not reset, it just puts the fsb back to auto.
