no i didn't. Didn't know i had to. Should i redo the OS then do the updates?

BTW this is on my AM2 build. 3800+ Windsor Asus M2A-VM build 1gb Crucial pc5300

Yep, not only are the old MB drivers likely screwing up stuff, the Registry is loaded with the desire to run who knows which chip set.

Its always best to reload an OS when changing MB with a different chip set!

well crap haha... i'll just reformat the drive and redo XP then reload all my drivers. This could be the cause of the slowly running correct?

would a 5400rpm Hd cause it to be slow also?
