Depending on how you work your parts around, you could probably get sli for the same price.
Would probably be hard though.

Looks good. The p35 will overclock to 3.2 or 3.6 depending on your chip and ambient temps, (3.2 definately). The 4Gb is great, assuming you already have 64bit vista. As for me I would like a nicer keyboard that will feel better than that but thats personal preference.

he gets vista free through his school. I got him the 4 gig because cad programs use a lot of ram.

As far as sound card, I figure onboard will sound good if he isn't use to the x-fi lol. Plus, he's only using 2.1 speakers.
