yes sir. I had to reset the cmos, since I cant boot the system and reset everything the same and set those timings. Since I increased the FSB to 250x10 I added some Vcore this time to 1.450v. Still the same results... Beeping but no video or post. going to reset Cmos again

try a little more vcore. and if you have an async latency option set it at 8

No sir.. It will not accept thse settings.

I have tried the follwoing variations:

FSB - 240
HT - Both x4 and x3
multiplier - x10
Vcore - 1.450 & 1.425
DRAM Volt - 2.60 & 2.70

Timings (2T) 3-4-4-12, 3-4-4-10, 4-4-4-12 and I set the Max async to 08 nano secs.

Each dead a dead boot. It will just continously beep, unless I reset the Cmos to get back in. Weird
VCore

hmm, you may have found you max oc. seems kinda low. have you checked your temps under load when you had it stable

I set it back to this and can boot:

FSB Freq....................240Mhz
LDT/FSB Freq Ratio......x4
CPU/FSB Freq Ratio......x10
PCI eXpress Freq.........100Mhz

CPU Vid Control...........1.425v
LDT Voltage Control.....1.20v
Chip Set Voltage.........1.50v
DRAM Voltage.............2.60v

DRAM Freq Set............166Mhz (5/6)
Command Per Clock......Enable (1T)
CAS.........2-3-3-6

My temps with MBM5 show idle around 31-32 (37-38 in Bios). I haven't tested under load yet. I can move the timings to 2T and boot, also I can get CAS 2.5 or 3 and boot fine. maybe the Golden dragon doesn't like the 4-4 timings. BTW... I can get up to 260FSB by increasing Vcore and also uping the DRAM Voltage, but it's too hot.

yeah, i think you've probably found you max OC with that cooler. personally i'd invest in ddr2-800 ram, a new mb and a new cpu cooler. should be able to hit 3ghz with that cpu.

sorry for the bad news man
This probably only applies to my board, but I'll post it anyway.

When my CPU is overclocked, making any changes to ram latency, HTT multi, or ram divider will immediately fail and reset the bios. So whenever I have to change those settings, I undo my CPU overclock then reset. Then I change my latencies, multies, or dividers without changing the CPU FSB, apply the settings and reset. After resetting, that's when I change my FSB again.

Also, my overclocks are more successful when increasing FSB gradually. If I raise my FSB from 200 to 286 immediately then my OC will usually fail, even when I know that I have reached such settings before. However if I went from 200 to 250 then increase +5 or +10 at a time then my OC usually works.

Hope this helps.

I had it up to 2.6GHZ with the cooler, I don't think the memory likes the timings.

I just went 2.5-4-4-8 (2T) and 250FSB , HT - x3 and I boot fine

that might work, you could try it. at least setting the ram timings first
post #20 of 35
hmm, you cpu may just not like the ht too close to 1000mhz
