Whats so 'great' about COD4? - Page 4

CoD 4 Multiplayer is awesome for about 1 hour for me. After that I find it boring.

Sure the M4 might not have a lot of recoil, but that Red Dot is all over the place. The only gripe i have w/ CoD 4 is martyrdom and grenade launchers. One requires you only to be near a player when you die, the other only requires you to shoot in a general direction.

I think crysis was insanely boring. It may be me... i mean im one of those guys who runs out and screws everyone up... but in crysis you have to wait. The speed gismo sucks hard and its so repetitive. cloak, speed, armour, cloak, armour, cloak cloak cloak, hide, strength, cloak, armour.... dam

The thing i like about COD 4 is realism. (and that mission where you use the 105mm gun to shoot the enemies!!!) its also way more tough that the old CODs where you could stand in front of an enemy and reload while he is shooting you. In COD 4 you get owned if you try that. Plus i have never seen a game that makes so much usage of the claymores. Excellent!

It's not that at all.

It's also the most popular game on Xbox Live, so it seems lots of people want that.

Try the demo first, it's a good way to see if you'll like it.

Don't take the OP's view on it though, there are a TON of people who love this game.

I will say that the RPD in cod4 is f-ing retarded though, you can practically snipe with the thing.
Actually, the AR-15 is just the civilian version of the M4. Same thing except no full auto.

Yeah, I do snipe with it. They should have swapped the accuracy w/ those two guns. The M4 is way more accurate than it is in the game and the RPD is way less.

Why do you think Halo is so popular?? Because it is very simple and incredibly stable for multiplayer. COD4 has Halo's multiplayer advantages with better graphics more weapons, great customization.

Quote:
The AR-15 is a lightweight, air-cooled, magazine fed, autoloading, centerfire shoulder-fired rifle. The original ArmaLite/Colt AR-15 was a selective-fire prototype submitted for consideration as a military infantry rifle, which was later adopted as the M16
again, the ar-15 and the m4 are not designed the same, the M4 is shorter and stockier, you're thinking of the m16

There could be a brick sticking out and it would still stop you dead in your tracks.
Maybe you should try the PC version before spouting your ignorant mouth.

polishedness. the guns act, sound and feel realistic. the multiplayer side to COD4 is polished to perfection. the ranking system is addictive. the weapons and perks work greatly. It really out-does rainbow six:vegas in every way. Infact vegas 2 is trying to do what COD4 is doing already, even before release. COD4 doesnt over-glamorise warfare. It brings it to you. the sniper mission in chernobyl is amazing. I've never played anything so atmospheric and cinematic (in a certain part).

But COD4 is all about the multiplayer. Its inexplainable in a way. Its the online game you always go back to. To rank up a little bit more. To get more upgrades. To play that map you love again. To try a different weapon/perk combo. Its brilliant. I think you havent played it enough to realise its greatness yet..

a very important thing to say is this though.. COD4 is just as good on PS3 as it is on PC. Infact the PS3 version is better than the 360 version technically. And parts of the online mode are done better than the PC version (prestige mode, server connecting etc). If you're saying that aiming and sniping is bad on the PS3 you just havent played it enough yet. I sit infront of my TV and my hands are working magic on the sixaxis when playing COD4. Once you master it, it works great. Infact I enjoy it more than on PC in some ways. All your criticisms of it so far seem to be due to not playing it enough. I can understand your doubts but seriously. Spend a week playing it
