Having issues getting 500FSB with my board. Have tried a few things, anything special I need to do with this thing? Successfully running 464x9.5 on my e8500 for 4.41Ghz @ 1.41v effective. Dropped the multi down (obviously) and still same thing. Can run 4.6, but would rather not run close to 1.45v vcore. Advice would be greatly appreciated!

What voltage are you giving your northbridge? If you are giving it enough, maybe you are in an fsb hole or your board just cant work at that frequency.
Anybody have experience as to what the max fsb frequencies usually are for the Maximus?

Nope... everything is at stock now, haven't done anything in the bios... just went thru it to check temps after reboot from memtest...

Which ones at the back are USB 2.0? All of them?

And why the extra USB panel?

Thanks..

I've tried just over 1.5v on the NB. Wasn't sure what the norm is on this particular chipset, but I don't wanna torch the thing and murder stability. For the most part, I run it on auto, only thing I've changed to get 4.4Ghz stable @ 464x9.5 multi was vcore, and manually setting the mem voltage to 2.06 to get just under 2.2. Only running 2 2GB memory modules thinking that was it, but no sir, must be missing something. What bios are you guys running and have seen the best results with? I'm running 0907, which is what my board came with after it's 3rd time getting to me (after 2 RMA's due to no post).

Strange ...

The extra USB back panel is so that you can have extra USB ports. There are two USB headers in the motherboard that you can plug in for expansion...

Have you actually looked to see if Legacy USB is disabled by default or are you just assuming the bios defaults to on?

Which bios version are you on?
