Well you can also see what BIOS you're running in your system info section as well as the Tools\\EZ Flash section.

I'm flashing when I get home..........I'm not scared

I'll post results when I get back home around 6PM.

Thanks, I finished building my rig late last night, that was the first place I looked, but must have missed it.

To flash to an older BIOS, you have to use that ASUSupdate thingy. You can either download it or use the CD that it came with.

1. Open ASUSupdate//install it then open it.
2. Go to Option -> then click next
3. Select BIOS downgradable
4. Click next
5. Update BIOS using file//internet - though I suggest downloading the BIOS first, then installing
6. Watch the blue bar fill up, then your finished
7. Reboot to complete

Ok guys, I'm about to flash. Here is a screenie of my temps/voltages before (0907), and I'm going to take memory benches, CPU benches, etc. Take the benches with a grain of salt, as they can vary according to the point after boot when they're taken........I've been listening to music for about 20 minutes.

Only certain versions of AsusUpdate allow back-flashing (Downgrading)

Older AsusUpdate v6 allows downgrading (v7.11.02 and newer from Asustek do not)
You must use 32Bit to perform the flash, as the software fails to work on an x64 OS
Newer AsusUpdates are available for x64 systems but do not allow back-flashing.

There are countless dire warnings regarding using AsusUpdate for flashing/ back-flashing your BIOS,

Back flashing without risking AsusUpdate
I found the following method from reading through the
MF Thread over @ XS Post # 1717, Page 69 Courtesy of Darkstormz

Quote:
I did this...

1. Reboot etc and start flashing of 09xx bios from DOS.
2. After the erase part you will see "writing flash". Now turn off your computer.
3. Now the crash-free bios will kick in and you can flash to whatever bios you want using a flashdrive/thumbdrive/memorystick. Just name the bios you want to be flashed like "FORMULA.ROM".
You can also use the driver-cd to recover your bios back to 0401.

Several posts, have verified that this method works A-OK!

As it should; as what you are really doing is deliberately corrupting your BIOS (by interrupting the flash), then allowing crash-free to do what it was designed to do; ie. recover from a corrupted BIOS.
Cheers
