My new OC

Thread Starter
uh. so i bought some crucial ballistix and put them in. i could OC them to 1040 at stock voltage, and loosened timings. if i tweaked the timings i could of probably squeeze more out of them but i want to run 4gigs.

My current config is 2xOCZ Platinum 2 800 and 2xCrucial Ballistix 800.

so i set the htt to 267 with a multiplier of 12 (i think), but it was on accident.. and i set it up to run memtest. i tightened the timings to 5-4-4-10-2T and memtest ran for 15 hours with no problems...

i was pretty sure i had set the ram to 247*13... but i came this morning to check memtest and sure enough the ram was set to 535MHz, cpuspeed is 3211.. this means 267*12.

the memory is running at 2.2V and i'm confused because i haven't run either set of sticks independently at 1070MHz...but i guess together they have been running for 15 hours..

does this even make any sense?

Sure.... usually it can be kinda tricky getting two different brands of ram to run well together, but the specs on the Ballistix and the OCZ are probably close enough that they're working for you. Running Memtest for 15 hours with no errors is a good sign.... now you can run Orthos and check for stability. Good job!
