Vista dies repeatedly even after format and reinstall

i have recently had issues with vista *gasp* (nothing new to anyone really)

basically it just died it would hang on everything i did. so i reinstalled.
i backed everything vital up onto a seperate partition and stuck my vista disk in and booted from it. formated the drive (not partition with back up on)and installed vista.

it worked fine for 1 day (after installing the mobo drivers)

then when i get home from school i find that it has gone to the screen that says its locked. (bit like logon but locked(dunno why it doesn't even have a password))

now when i get on it says there is an issue and it couldn't resolve an ip or something. i try the internet and as i guessed it didn't work.

so i diagnose and repair the network through the network center thing.

it says it cant be fixed automatically. and just incase i reinstall the drivers for the mobo. as expected it doesn't do anything (its vista).

so figuered just for good measure i'd reboot.

when i get on the icon in the system tray says its on the network and connected to the internet.

but it isn't (suprise)

however now when i try and launch a program every time i get round to closing it tells me that they have stopped responding even though the program isn't running anmore (as if it were complaining that its not running any more)

can anyone help me this is the second time it has happend and its really starting to bug me. (last time i had to do a complete format to fix the issue and reinstall vista).

(im on my parents pc at the mo and its so slow that i am developing atheritus faster than it can open Internet 5hitesplorer) i need my pc working again.

plus is this a case of having to revert to xp?? cause perosonally vista has f**ked me around enough

i also dont believe it is a virus of anykind as no antivirus i have tested finds one.
