What mobo for Penryn?

Thread Starter
I'm upgrading our family's PC and I need a motherboard that supports Penryn Dual and Quad cores. I will be getting an E8400 with it, and later possibly a quad. DDR2 memory is a must because of cost, I will be getting 4gb DDR2-800.

I did a little looking around on Newegg but I don't know much about the different boards. So what motherboard is compatible with Penryn dual and quads, is a decent overclocker, and is $150 or less?

How about Abit IP35 Pro? $140. A good quality and user friendly P35 board. Fill 12 or 13 options and ready to go. If you prefer mroe options and tweaks, this $140 DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS is good too.

I like that DFI. Will both of these boards overclock similarly?

Very similar. The DFI board has higher fsb but you have a 9x E8400 so fsb won't be the big factor.
