Have you got another CPU you could try like an E6600 or something. Sometimes the BIOS will need updating for the board to support the latest CPU's?

So you are in the us correct. Make sure the voltage is set to 110 on the back of your psu. To me it sounds like something dumb. Can i ask you to answer the questions people ask you. Like the cpu being properly seated, you said it is but just be sure to let us know that you actually checked it rather than have confidence in the fact you did it correctly the first time

Try to boot with the other stick. Is the PCI-e connecter attached to the videocard?

I was told in my other topic that this processor would work with this board without flashing the bios it would give me wrong readings until I did flash the bios.

I cannot access the bios because the computer kicks on for 3 seconds, nothing shows on the monitor, hdd does not click, and then restarts. This continues infiniatly.

Its all in a P180 case with 5 fans total, so cooling isnt a problem. I have a nice even layer of thermal paste on the processor with just a little squeezing out over the edges, not touching anything else.

So... That enough info? If you need more let me know.

Taking out the single stick did not work. Same thing happening
That's WAY WAY WAY TTTOOOOOO much thermal paste. You only need enough to fill in the MICROSCOPIC voids between CPU and HSF!!!
This isn't your main problem though. No POST is more important.

This will be a big pain, but take the board out of the case, hook up the PSU to the board 1 stick of RAM and the Graphics card. Try each RAM slot. If you can't get to work, try the other stick of RAM.
If it doesn't work, you'll have to take it out anyways to RMA it.

Have you not got another CPU you can try in it just to see if it will boot properly?

Nah... No other Intels in the house. I have a couple of AMDs, but I wanted to make the switch over.
I tried taking the board out of the case and started that up (layed it on an ESD bag). Same thing. Im going to file the paperwork for the RMA. This is now the second board that hasnt worked properly.

I think im going to make another topic in a little while asking you guys to build a system around my E8400. Thanks again guys.
