What platform goes best with the ATI HD 3870 x2 video card, AMD or Intel!

Hi every one!

I need every one's best opinion on this question.

I am going to build a new system and I want to go with the ATI HD 3870 x2 video card, since its the fastest. Now I cant decide with what CPU it could run the best performance with.

So my question is. should I build a Spider platform with the AMD Phenom 9600 black edition or an Intel system with a core 2 quad q6600?

This will be water cooled, and will have 4gb of RAM.

Thanks!

Intel would win in performance, AMD is just not worth it right now.

Yeah, any time you're looking to get the most performance in something: Intel. (as of right now)

Which one of these would I better of with the Q6600 or the E8400?
And with what motherboard?

intel for sure. and for cards ATI has the fastest overall card but nvidia has the fastest single GPU card out at the moment.

and a E8400 will benifit you more in games than a quad will cause of the higher clock. and if you want SLI get a 780i if not then a X38 would be a good chip set for you to get. and DFI IMO is the best mobo maker.

DFI makes great boards, but they're not without their quirks. Be prepared to do a little research if you go that route. That said, I agree........... DFI makes great mobos!
